1Overview
Use ADACLicence to refresh a Computer Based licence or manage the Floating and Network Floating Bolt-ons.
The Floating and Network Floating Bolt-ons apply once to the licence purchase. They are not charged for each seat.
2Before updating
- Save your work.
- Connect to the internet for online licence actions.
- For Network Floating, connect to the licence server or use an active checkout.

- Floating: check out, renew or return the seat.
- Network Floating: use a live server seat or a signed travel checkout.

infrADAC confirms the licence, product and current device.
Confirm access
Run one infrADAC command to confirm the new state.
- Review Licence Status again.
- Confirm the seat or checkout is active.
- Resume work.
4Licence mode differences
Computer Based
- Activate the licence on one computer.
- Use infrADAC on that computer.
- Revoke it before moving to another computer when eligible.
Floating Bolt-on
- Check out an available seat on the current computer.
- Work for the permitted checkout period.
- Return the seat when another computer needs it.
Benefit: licensed seats can move between computers without a local server.
Network Floating Bolt-on
- The infrADAC Network Licence Server holds the purchased seat pool.
- Connected workstations receive available seats automatically.
- In the infrADAC Network Licence Manager, select the workstation then select Checkout for travel.
- Keep infrADAC open on that workstation until its next heartbeat receives the signed checkout.
- The workstation can then work away from the server until checkout expiry.
- Use End checkout in the manager or return the checkout from the connected workstation to free the seat.
Benefit: IT manages one local seat pool while users retain Floating checkout for travel.
5infrADAC Network Licence Manager
The manager has three pages: Overview, Connections and Diagnostics.
| Page | Controls |
|---|---|
| Overview | Refresh, Refresh licence, Checkout for travel, Release seat and End checkout |
| Connections | Server host, Listening port, LAN addresses, Pairing token, Copy details, Save and restart, Update firewall and Rotate token |
| Service | Start, Stop and Restart |
| Diagnostics | Configuration, Windows service, Local endpoint, Windows Firewall and LAN address checks |
Use an organisation VPN or another IT managed private connection for remote live use. The manager does not change router settings or use UPnP.
Pairing and administrator requests use nonce protected HMAC authentication with separate secrets. The raw token is not sent in request headers. Travel checkout payloads are API signed, device bound, server bound and time limited.
6Troubleshooting
The licence download failed
Confirm internet access then retry.
A Floating seat is unavailable
Return an existing checkout or wait for a seat to become available.
The infrADAC Network Licence Server is unavailable
Confirm the server host, port and authentication token with the licence server administrator. Use a valid checkout when working outside the network.
